Our Facilities

Abbeyfield’s sole objective is the welfare and happiness of its residents.

We Provide

a secure and friendly environment allowing each resident privacy and independence

houses that are fully equipped for the comfort and safety of elderly people, including stairlifts and emergency alarm systems

private accommodation, furnished by the resident (allowing residents to have their cherished effects around them)

centrally heated rooms - the majority with en-suite toilets and wash basins

a weekly laundry service

a fortnightly room cleaning service

comfortable communal facilities and use of garden

housekeepers and/or other staff always in residence

two high quality balanced meals per day, taken together in the communal dining room (breakfast is arranged by the resident)

companionship of other residents, volunteers and staff

social activities, outings and entertainments

a support plan and access to the management team for regular consultation

all rooms with sockets for telephone and televisions

personal alarms are provided for each resident and these can either be worn as a pendant or there is a watch size version which can be worn on the wrist.

• Three of our houses have wireless broadband which is available to residents and staff without charge.

Respite Breaks

Subject to availability, we also offer respite breaks to non-resident guests who require supported accommodation with full board for a limited period.

We do not provide

personal care such as help with bathing and dressing, as we are not a registered care home. However such extra care may be brought in if required.

furniture - residents are expected to provide their own which allows familiar objects to be part of their move to Abbeyfield

breakfasts - residents make their own breakfasts in their own room

private telephone.
