We Provide
• a secure and friendly environment allowing each resident privacy and independence
• houses that are fully equipped for the comfort and safety of elderly people, including stairlifts and emergency alarm systems
• private accommodation, furnished by the resident (allowing residents to have their cherished effects around them)
• centrally heated rooms - the majority with en-suite toilets and wash basins
• a weekly laundry service
• a fortnightly room cleaning service
• comfortable communal facilities and use of garden
• housekeepers and/or other staff always in residence
• two high quality balanced meals per day, taken together in the communal dining room (breakfast is arranged by the resident)
• companionship of other residents, volunteers and staff
• social activities, outings and entertainments
• a support plan and access to the management team for regular consultation
• all rooms with sockets for telephone and televisions
• Three of our houses have wireless broadband which is available to residents and staff without charge.
Respite Breaks
Subject to availability, we also offer respite breaks to non-resident guests who require supported accommodation with full board for a limited period.
We do not provide
• personal care such as help with bathing and dressing, as we are not a registered care home. However such extra care may be brought in if required.
• furniture - residents are expected to provide their own which allows familiar objects to be part of their move to Abbeyfield
• breakfasts - residents make their own breakfasts in their own room
• private telephone.
